Asthma is another chronic disease which involves the stairway of the lungs. In case of asthma, the airways always remain inflamed. They swell so much that the muscles around this particular airway can tighten and it restricts the air movements. Thus the people feel like they are getting suffocated.

OSA or sleep apnea is a sleeping disorder in which the sleep of a person can get disrupted as the breathing of the person gets interrupted during their sleep. Many times they can stop breathing while they are sleeping. So the body and the brain might not get enough oxygen which can ultimately lead to the death of the patient.

Thus, you see that the symptoms of the three respiratory diseases are very similar to each other.

Treatment of COPD/Asthma / OSA Diseases

To treat COPD medication can be given the function of which is to relax the muscles of the airways for you’re to breathe. In case of severe COPD, surgery is preferred. One typical surgery is called bullectomy in which large air sacs are removed from the lungs. In some of the conditions lung transplant is also done to treat the disease. These are all major operations that need to be done carefully.

For asthma patients, the treatment is controller medications which can be taken on a regular basis. Some of them are the corticosteroids which are inhaled. LABA is present in the combination inhalers where they help to open the airways that are present in the lungs. Various oral medications such as the Leukotriene modifiers are also prescribed by doctors sometimes. Asthma can be treated and reduced gradually over time.

For obstructive sleep apneas, a CPAP device or a continuous positive airway pressure device is fitted over the nose or the mouth which blows air all throughout the night. Usage of CPAP Is highly effective and in most of the cases makes the patients better. Thus respiratory diseases should be treated as soon as possible.
